Vinnie started collecting comics as a kid from the mid to late 50's and after retiring from the military he opened Golden Memories Comics in November of 1991.

One dark and cold winter, a tiny 5-week old kitten, abandoned and forced to tough it out on her own in the wilds of Long Island, huddled outside the doorway of shop owner Vinnie Viverito's home, seeking any warmth she could find through the door. Vinnie spotted her and took her in, and started bringing her to the shop with him every day where she now resides as the shop mascot.
